Parent Corner
The Parent and School Partnership at UASPA
At The Urban Assembly School for the Performing Arts (UASPA), it is our goal to create a close knit, family atmosphere where all feel welcome and our children succeed. We encourage and welcome all parents/guardians to be active participants in our students’ endeavors as we together strive to make them productive and successful adults in a competitive society.
EDUCATION = OPTIONS
We believe that Education = Options. This statement is taught to our students from the day they become a part of the UASPA community, and we instill this belief throughout their entire time here. I.C.A.R.E. is an acronym we use to instill the core values of Integrity, Community, Artistry, Respect, and Excellence. In teaching our children these values, we are preparing them to grow.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We need parents/guardians to constantly communicate with the community. Communication is how we keep you in the know as to how your child is academically and socially. We have incorporated student-led conferences, in lieu of parent/teacher conferences, which we believe is essential in creating communication between you, the staff, and your child.
STAY IN TOUCH
Monthly mailings, UASPA showcase performances, and monthly Parent Association meetings are additional ways we reach out to you and keep you updated as to what is happening in our community.
If you are not receiving our monthly mailing, please reach out to our parent coordinator, Mrs. Whitaker. Be sure that your contact information is updated and accurate. We are partners to ensure that your child meets all requirements and goals during their years at UASPA.
If you ever have any questions, please reach out to our Parent Coordinator, Mrs. Whitaker, at 212-543-4460 or by email.
